Import scanner findings

Use Burp XML and Nessus as inputs to the reporting workflow.

01 / Start inside the engagement

Open the target engagement and choose Import Burp XML or Import Nessus. Check that the file belongs to the agreed assessment and does not contain unnecessary sensitive material.

02 / Review before applying

Inspect the import preview and select the entries you intend to add. Check duplicates and scope. An imported finding is not automatically a manually confirmed issue.

03 / Complete the narrative

Review the description, evidence and remediation. Add the context a customer needs, including the observed endpoint or asset and the account used to verify the issue.

04 / Verify report inclusion

Set the relevant validation and inclusion choices, then generate and inspect a report version. Keep the original tool’s limitations explicit where they affect your conclusion.

Illustrations use fictional Northstar / Atlas data. Interface availability depends on your role, the selected workspace and report state. Never use real customer data to reproduce a documentation example.
