Custom Word layouts

Understand the boundary between PDF profiles and Word templates.

01 / Use a compatible template

Where a custom Word template is available, start from the supported template and its documented fields. Arbitrary Word designs are not guaranteed to behave as valid report templates.

02 / Attach it to the report profile

Select the custom Word template in the profile used for generation. The PDF continues to use Quill’s built-in report layout; a Word template does not become the PDF renderer.

03 / Test with realistic content

Generate a synthetic report containing long finding titles, tables and evidence. Open the resulting DOCX in the word processor your recipients use and inspect page breaks, headers, footers and image placement.

04 / Keep a known-good copy

Retain the last working template and compare a new generated version after any change. Do not replace a client’s final deliverable with an unreviewed template experiment.

Illustrations use fictional Northstar / Atlas data. Interface availability depends on your role, the selected workspace and report state. Never use real customer data to reproduce a documentation example.
